Le West Coast Express célèbre son 30e anniversaire. Et il semble qu’il ne sera pas amélioré à moyen terme.

Why is West Coast Express service so limited, and why is public transit service linking Metro Vancouver to neighbouring regions so minimal? The answers are complex — and a big reason why the speed of improving service is anything but express.
A pickup truck driver ignored the signals and drove around gate arm at a railway crossing, yesterday morning in Port Moody, BC.
The #WestCoastExpress commuter train collided with the vehicle and sent the driver flying through the window seriously injured. Video:

Passengers onboard weren't hurt but stuck for over an hour. Thousands were delayed due to one person's dumb decision. Don't do that.

officially licensed translink/west-coast-express branded beer was not on my bingo cards for this year 😭
i cant believe it!! how unserious lmao!
this is from the same company that orders scrapyards to macerate and totally obliterate their old buses to avoid their branding from being found in scrap or unwanted use…
> This partnership is part of our broader efforts to explore new ways of generating revenue without raising fares or taxes. Every dollar earned through collaborations like this goes toward supporting transit service and infrastructure, from more reliable buses to better walking and cycling connections.
honestly, so real though, good on ya translink. unironically a creative funding option, i hope it works out.
if y’all haven’t read the article, go do that!! this is one for the history books!

@[email protected] And on #westcoastexpress … OK if you’ve never experienced commuter rail, until you realize these are running on shared low speed freight routes that rock back and forth. Because we have to share we have twice as many cars and locomotives to provide half the service. And diesel? We can do better.
Yes it will be a mega project, but not as big and costly as continued patchwork freeway and bridge building, vehicle costs and lost commuter time. #bcpoli
