A good BCWF video here and update on the Underwood fire and the impact of the recent rain. Good pictures of what the fire looked yesterday and today. The fire is 3467ha. There has been 33mm on the area of the fire since Thursday/Friday.
No big perimeter changes. They are continuing to work on fire lines and containing it.

Going around the lake. It's almost spooky. The entire east half of the #WesleyRidge mountainside is steaming or smoldering. I am not sure which .
In two years, both sides of this lake have had massive fires.
And consider the Wesley and Underwood fires are separated really only by a few river valleys.
There is a path to connect them through the Cameron River Valley, and the world famous Cathedral Grove.

A local volunteer FD has been preparing for this wildfire for years. That preparation has paid off as no homes have been lost, even with a wildfire surrounding many structures.

From Dashwood Fire Facebook post:
“Crews made good progress overnight working hot spots close to structures, road ways and infrastructure. Not much fire growth overnight due to the rain…”
