I watched a #WendoverProductions this morning as I had breakfast and made coffee. The title is either "How the Vatican's Embassies Work or "The Geopolitics of the Vatican" (it seems that a lot of these edutainment YouTubers change their titles shortly after release, to game the algorithm I guess)

At 2 minutes 20 seconds, the sentence starts: "Of course, around the world, there are plenty of non-sovereign entities that view themselves as sovereign, and therefore operate within a given territory as if they were." I can't identify what the footage is, but if I had to guess, I think it's a cut from indigenous Andeans walking around normally to a street festival in Catalonia or the Basque Country

Next is the good bit. "But what they lack is international recognition of their sovereignty." The footage depicted - screenshot provided - is from rue Wellington (I am 95% certain) in #Verdun, #Montréal prominently featuring an election sign from this past summer for @CraigSauve (and much less prominently, a faceless one from the Conservative candidate)

Call that "doing an Adam Curtis"
