Madan no Ou to Vanadis Episode 07

Roland decides to challenge her. With a mighty swing of Durandal, he breaks Sofy magical barrier. This in turn shocks Sofy. She has a small scuffle with Roland. But she uses one of her abilities to teleport away. Mashas turns up and drives Roland and his men away. It turns out that Mashas was held up in the capital, by some assassins. It was only due to Sofy untimely appearance, that was she able to help Mashas. It is also to be noted, the king of Brune has lost his mind with grief. Thenardier and Ganelon are aware of this, and have ultimately taken over the castle. Issuing out orders “under the kings name”. They are the ones responsible for setting Roland on Tigre. Elen attention diverts back to Tigre. He isn’t doing well, on top of his injury he has developed a fever. Titta is nursing him the best she can.

Reign of the seven spell blades Episode 1: HP the anime

Thenardier has sent out a force to take control of Alsace. Roland is suspicious of this behaviour. But proceeds with the “order” anyway. Tigre has shown signs of recovery. Whilst not fully healed, he heads out with Titta to some field. The black bow takes them to a hidden temple. Elen and co head out to face Roland once again. Leaving behind all their injured soldiers. Roland decides to use a crescent formation, this way they can chip away at Elens formation. Back at the temple, Tigre and Titta stumble upon a carving of a woman. Titta recognises her as Tir na Fa. A goddess.

Point of interest:

  • Tir is the goddess of night, darkness and death
  • The bow may come from her, as she is the one that has holds certain power over it
  • Roland broke through Ley admos
  • Sofy and Elen teamed up to face Roland
  • Roland is the only adversary that faced two vanadis on equal footing

Tir is now testing Tigre with the bow. She wants Tigre to shoot Tir/Titta. If he does and the bow acknowledges him, then she will give him power. Tigre has no choice, so he takes up his bow against his childhood friend and maid. Tigre takes aim, but as always decides he rather have their clothes ripped to shreds and not kill them. Tigre is riding in to battle. Roland somehow frees himself from Ley Admos. Shocking both Sofy and Elen. Tigre launches an arrow from a great distance, surprising Roland. Who is astonished by the distance he fired it from. Roland questions Tigre about the treaty of Zchted and Alsace. Tigre wound has opened up again, this concerns Elen greatly. But aids him in firing a shot to Roland to settle the score. Roland is defeated.

With the show now speeding along, we get to see Tigre becoming more of a lead MC. We do see just how strong Roland really is. As he easily faced Sofy and Elen head on and almost beat them, if it were not the timely intervention of Tigre. However Roland still takes the lead as the main man here, Tigre is just a boy -joke-. The fight was okay, nothing outstanding. The introduction of the goddess was an interesting point. How much of an influence she will play in the series, only time will tell.

Reign of the seven spell blades Episode 1: HP the anime

A month has passed since the battle in Olmutz, with Alsace having new allies in order to defend herself. So Tigre sets out west, in hopes of establishing a base of operations there. The march west took it’s time. As Elen and co rest up. She is trying to get Lim to pronounce her army’s name. Titta is proudly saying “the silver meteor storm”. Lim is not happy about this chastisement. Nor the name, for that matter. Tigre not wanting to get into this little debate, gets dragged in regardless, with Lim actually telling him to stick up for his opinions a lot more. Lim is steadily becoming a favourite of mine. Tigre is wanted for treason against the crown a so a warrant for his arrest is put out. His title as nobleman is to be stripped.

Point of interest:

  • Roland is named after the legendary hero in the epic poem of Charlemagne.
  • This marks Elen’ first defeat in battle
  • Durandal is Roland’ weapon
  • Elen was reluctant to use Ley Admos on humans
  • Mila ends her families 80-year connection to Thenardier

And Alsace under the kings control. The Navaare are on the move. Both armies have taken up positions in the orange plains. Roland wielding the sword durandal leads the charge against the silver meteor storm. Elen had no choice but to engage with the strongest knight in all of Brune. Roland charges at Tigre, who narrowley avoids his sword. And fires an arrow upwards. Elen and Tigre are now fleeing. Roland gives chase to them, when his horse is killed. However the plan didn’t go as smoothly. Tigre was gravely injured. With him lying unconscious, and Elen stuck. Sofy comes to aid her. With Elen retreating, this marks a first defeat for Elen and her army.

This episode showed a more aggressive side to Elen. As she went up against Mila. And Tigre was shown as to why he had little chance of victory against Elen back in the beginning. We all see the most typical knight you can imagine. Roland. Maybe he is modeled after the famed knight in history?. Roland leads the order of Navaare. An elite order of knights. Thenardier manipulated the king in order to label Tigre as an insurgent. Hence why the elite order was sent out after him. This shows just how badly Thenardier wants him out of the way. The small clash with Roland and Sofy was intersting. As it shows that Sofy isn’t some clumsy, air head. And that she is more capable than she lets on.

For she thinks Mila might be thinking of initiating a surprise attack. Elen discusses any tactics they can use, Tigre wants to get involved with the battle. With her army sandwiched between Thenardier and Mila forces, Elen had no choice but to engage with Mila. It is revealed that Mila and her family have a long connection to Thenardier. As it spans for about 80 years. And Mila does not want that connection to be severed under her watch.

Reign of the seven spell blades Episode 1: HP the anime

Elen teasing Mila for not knowing what gruel is

The battle is fierce, upon the snowy plains. But the battle ended in a stalemate. It turns out that the small scuffle between the two forces was only to see how Tigre found them. Elen also reveals that Mila favours defence, despite being more aggressive. It appears that Mila tricked Elen out. In the Tatara mountains, there is a fortress – owned by Mila. And it appears to be very well defended. Making it very difficult for an army siege to take the citadel. Elen siege was unsuccessful. Her army were forced to retreat, whilst Mila and her forces withheld their ground. Lim tried to calm down Elen from taking any reckless actions – as this frustrated Elen. As she sought some assistance from Tigre. Tigre is trekking Mila through the snow plains, whilst being under a bear skin. He manages Mila to open up to him. She isn’t really happy about shouldering the responsibility of being a war maiden. Not to mention, being allies with people she hates. He continues to track via her footprints. Which leads to the citadel. He brings back Elen, and together they make an assault on it. The door was guarded by strong magic. Not even Ley Admos could break through. But with the of help Arifar. Tigre creates an opening with his bow.

Tigre, thinking hard here

Points of interest

  • Mila inherited her vanadis weapon Lavias.
  • She is also adepted at using the bow.
  • Leitmeritz and Olmutz have been on bad terms with each other for a long time.
  • Lourie family have a long standing relationship with Thenardier.
  • Mila likes tea. As she has a tea set with her, wherever she goes.
  • According to Elen she is 2-1 up on Mila. Mila says it is the other way around.
Mila not exactly too thrilled about Elen

This episode focused more on Mila. It gave her some development & backstory. It shows us that Mila isn’t that stuck up as she is first shown. It certainly breaks her down as the episode progress. When she opens up to Tigre. What Tigre realises is that Mila is unhappy with the way her family positions itself with people that are questionable. And that she has to uphold that position, or face disgracing the Lourie family name. It is also noted that her weapon, Lavias was passed down her family for 80 years. I certainly think that Mila is an interesting character. And she adds that “spice” to the show. Not to mention, enlarging Tigre’s harem. Her rivalry with Elen is quite amusing to watch

Reign of the seven spell blades Episode 1: HP the anime

Mila has an acquaintance with Lord Thenardier. A small back drop is given about Mila. This goes way before her birth. Tigre wishes to face Lord Thenardier. Tigre is fulfilling his fathers and his own desire of protecting Alsace, irrespective of him being a feudal lord. His friend and close ally Lord Mashas headed out to the capital. Tigre is going from land to land to get more allies. Should Thenardier or Galeon attack again. Tigre is shocked to find out that Alsace will be confiscated, to appease the king, due to Elen reckless actions. However, it will fall under her control. Elen lightly mocks Tigres inability to understand the etiquette of “political” nobility. Everything must be done in Zchted interests first. Elen explains that the king and then the war maidens are above the nobility. They leave the mansion, but soon attacked by assassins. Lim ended up getting bitten by a venomous snake. Tigre ended up sucking the poison out. Both Elen and Tigre are concerned for Lim as they take her to a doctor.

Point of interest:

  • Ludamila Lourie shortened name is “Mila.”
  • Elen and Mila have a fierce rivalry with each other.
  • The relationship between Mila and Thenardier is strained at best.
  • The Vanadis are above the nobility.
  • The capital of Zchted is Silesia.
  • Sofy is another vanadis that was shown in this episode

The episode was pretty much world building at best. It didn’t have much going for it, till towards the end. When Thenardier sent out some assassins to go after Tigre. But it didn’t go according to plan as Lim ended up being bitten by a venomus snake. This had Tigre suck out the poision. Which was an interesting way to say the least. He could have accidently drank the blood and poisined himself.  It is a running rivalry between Mila and Elen to take puck shots at each other, physically. Like Mila being called a growing potatoe by Elen. This infuriates Mila. A very average episode.

Madan no Ou to Vanadis Episode 3

Madan no Ou to Vanadis episode 3. How will Tigre and Elen push back the invading army of Zion

Scribbble Anime

Madan no Ou to Vanadis Episode 3

War! The battle for Alsace is over for now. The enemy forces have retreated and are now re-grouping with the main force for a last ditch counter attack. With only 900 to take to the enemy, whilst still being outnumbered by 2,700. Zion not wanting to be bested by Tigre, had his men organised in to formation. With two dragons in the middle of the formation, any of Elens forces will be no match for it. Meanwhile during a strategy meeting involving Elen, Lim, Tigre, Bertrand and Rurick. Titta drops in and thinks Elen and Tigre are romantically involved. Lim had an idea which involves rope. It isn’t revealed at first. Tigre then had an idea of his own, involving some spare horses. Whilst being around Alsace, Lim gets to observe the town and notices that the people respect and show devotion to Tigre. This in her mind, puts her at ease. As she had shown some concern in Elens choice. With the plan in place. Tigre, Elen and her men are out on the battlefield, waiting to confront Zion and his men.

The Unwanted Undead Adventurer Episode 1 review: Being reborn as an undead

Reign of the seven spell blades Episode 1: HP the anime

The counterattack is on. Elen and Tigre lead the charge against Zion’ forces. As they engage with the enemy force. Elen seems to enjoy being on the battlefield. Suddenly Tigre, Elen and her forces are faced with dealing with the land dragon. The enemy has them surrounded, so they are forced into the path of the dragon. With no escape at all. Elen’ forces are no match for the dragon. Even Tigre with his archery skills, has a tough time.

The land dragon’s skin is too tough to break through. When Lim and her force has come to break up one the flanks that is surrounding Elen and Tigre. this gave Elen a chance to deal with the dragon herself. For the first time, she uses one of her dragon art skills. She calls it Ley Admos. It tears the land dragon apart with ease. Zion is now on the second dragon. And making his retreat. With the promise of coming back with more men. Tigre has to make a decision. When he hears a voice instructing him to shoot the dragon. The voice is coming from his black bow. When both Tigre bow and Elen’ Arifar start to resonant with each other. Helping Tigre arrow land a devastating hit and killing Zion. Thenardier forces surrender.

Points of interest

  • The use of 2 dragons was the first in the series.
  • The black bow communicates with Tigre.
  • Lim begins to respect Tigre – before she had doubts on him as a person.
  • Tigre uses his cunning to best a larger force. This will be shown through out the series.
  • Elen uses her dragon art for the first time.

This episode was an interesting one, as it put Tigre on the spot. As in the point of interest stated, Tigre use his cunning to best a much larger army. Despite him being inexperienced. But we steadily see that he is growing as a character. The family heirloom was also a noteworthy point. Just how did his family obtain it? And how come it is sentient? Is it similar to the vanadis weapons? What is the black bow called. These aren’t answered in the episode. As it focuses more on the invading army. We get to see the tactical side of Elen. She didn’t get to where she is, by just swinging a sword. Lim took a spot too. Her observation on the townsfolk and their opinion on the young lord, seemed to have mattered to her. And they sung nothing but high praises for him. Which eased her tensions with him (a bit).

Madan no Ou to Vanadis Episode 2

Episode 2 of Lordmarksman and Vanadis. How will Tigre and Elen aid Alsace?

Scribbble Anime

Blue lock episode 37 + 38 review

Wow, what a ride. The series really started out as a big disappointment. Especially with the animation being png still shots. However, the series turned it around at the end, once the main meal of the series the U-20 match kicked off. I really enjoyed the match. Seeing each character getting their time to shine in away. I do feel though this match became more of a Sae-Rin thing. I get it, that Rin wants to one up his bro and just get him back the way they were. However, the way it ended, tells me, that is just the prologue.

Anyway, something else to note. I’ve actually finished a series before the new season starts! the series I’ll be covering is: The Beginning After the End

Episode 37 – Penultimate

To just occurred to me, Rin has a bit of jealously streak towards Isagi. Which is the opposite when it comes to Isagi to Rin. Anyway, from the restart Isagi notices how Sae has levelled up and is now just beautifully destroying blue lock. As Rin recalls, his ability to outsmart his opponent by using their own skills against them, is what makes Sae a dangerous (and a very creative) player, one which Rin hasn’t matched yet. With an amazing pass to Shidou, who is his target man. Note: a target forward is fairly self-explanatory. It’s when the team focus on getting the ball to their forward to score goals for them. There are nuances into what makes a target forward, let’s just say Shidou meets them. In a last ditch effort Rin launches himself to intercept Shidou’s kick. He successfully intercepts, however, that is one nasty incident. Most players that end up in situations like that, end up being carried off.

From a free kick taken by Reo, their counter-attack begins. And oh boy my boi Bachira is here baby, and he just levelled up, them skills are out-right craziii. Dribbling like that, faking out most of the iron wall, with only Oliver left, he does an amazing lift, with just a power-shot it would have been a goal, however, Sendou retreated back to defend. Damn, my boi would have been on the score sheet. Honestly, the playboy of the U20, Sendou is mad, I’ll give him that. He no longer wants a pin-up model, he wants a Hollywood actress.

And he says that outloud, for everyone to hear. He knows what he wants. With the U-20 now counterattacking, the blue boys are defending with their lives. I love how Nagi and Barou come back to defend and try to stop a Sendou shot, only to butt heads together, that had me laughing. With a pass from Sae, Oliver takes a shot.

Good interception from Rin, to give a corner. Rin spent too much calculating as to where he thinks his brother would cross, natrually it be to their target man. Just when Shidou thinks he is within goalscoring opportunity, Isagi, had to make that critical interception. Rin thinks he is playing alone, when he has an epiphany, he isn’t. With that, blue lock gets their counterattack on the way.

Scribble rating:

Rating: 6.5 out of 9.

Episode 38 – Final Match

Oh boy, Rin has gone off on a bender from the last episode. His “flow” has been revealed, in it’s rawest form, it is the total opposite of his brother, if Sae is beautiful destruction, then Rin is brutal destruction. Taking each of the iron-wall defence apart. Using their own strengths against them. With only Oliver being a bit of a hinderance, until Shidou helped out a bit, even then, it wasn’t entirely enough. With a wicked shot, Rin went for goal, only to hit the bar. Bouncing off towards the one player Rin can’t stand, his own brother. With the scores locked even, an additional 1+ minute is added. Come on, 1 minute, 2 could have been added. Holy fuck, this is SO intense. Everyone is either making a beeline for the goal or running back to defend. U20 counterattack is going in full swing.

The battle of the brothers begins. Rin is just in full berserker mode, like a rabid dog. And God DAMN, the animation changed. And for the better, fluid, beautiful and just AWESOME TO LOOK AT, THIS IS WHAT IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN FROM THE START. In an attempt to finally get one up on Rin, Sae tried to trick him, Rin blocked, causing it to bounce. Who will it fall for? well it for the man of the hour, the heart of the team, with his direct shot Isagi not bested Oliver, but finally got on the score board, and damn what a goal, just blasted it into the back of the net. 4-3 Blue lock WINS!!!!!!! hell even Ego is fist pumping, that is something.

Honestly, the way this match played out. You would think it is a cup final. And for the blue lock boys and even U20, it pretty much is. Holy hell the match was intense, with players showcasing their strengths and never giving up. The match swung so many times, from behind to level to actually losing. That is how a match should be played out in a soccer anime. Not just a side winning decisively. Stakes on the line.

Oh what is this. A wild Kunigami appears. And the setup for next arc: neo egoist league, can’t wait for this!!

Wow, nearing the end of the match and the series. I have no doubt that the climax will offer something to look forward to, considering how the former episodes have been. Can’t really deny the build-up to this match was great, however the match itself is delivering. Episode 35 – The king arrives

Besides Shidou jizzing himself silly over bl stuff, the difference between Sae and Rin are becoming clearer, one understands his teammates to a degree, whilst the other doesn’t. In a bizarre twist, our bad boy is a bit more philosophical than he lets on. Okay, not really, just a twisted sense of having sex. What a bloody goal!!!, don’t like Shidou, but damn, Gagamaru got caught out, brilliant goal, simple as 3-2 to the U-20. With that play, Isagi feels despair so approaches his manager for instructions.

He is absolutely right, the boys in blue lock WILL be snapped up by powerhouse universities and domestics clubs will take these boys on. And spot on, the whole point of blue lock project was to take potential and drag it to the extreme, showcase that there are talented players waiting in the wings and there aren’t just one hit wonders. But a pool of talent waiting for them. I can understand Isagi’s desire to win. I love his resolve, even cutie Anri’s was taken back it.

With that resolve comes, their joker card. Step up the other bad boy Barou. Eiya is being subbed, I love how he tells him to curb his lust for goal, whilst Barou retorts back with it calling it fire. Interaction between the king and mr hassle (Nagi) is just hilarious. With Barou on the field, it has changed things up, U-20 can’t read him, and with him doing his Isagi-hunting season, no wonder he went for a goal, would have been a sweet goal, if it didn’t hit the post, I like Nagi’s reaction, calling him stupid king. Kenyu has some mad skills, he dribbled like he was playing street soccer. And with some amazing skills, he entered his flow state, and went for goal, but as usual, the best defender Oliver has entered his own flow state.

Episode 36 – Take your crown king

So, this is a bit of an Oliver special. In a weird way, I understand him. Having your dream being cut short because you weren’t allowed to “bloom” or develop because people weren’t nurturing it, is something I understand. I also understand how he took an alternative path and became something else. And you know what, being a world class defender isn’t a bad thing. In a funny way, he playing as a defender, suits him more than a striker or forward. As Sae is more suited to being a creative midfielder. That is an issue that is cropping up in blue lock (and other soccer anime), everyone wants to be a striker. Other positions have scored goals, the only problem is they know their role and don’t venture out of it, as it will break formation and tactics. Anyway, with U-20 now in control, they make quick break for the goal line, Sae being the obviously passing it you know who.

With Reo being unable to contain Shidou, he takes a shot that is goal bound. When Gagamaru does something, he makes an incredible save. Note: this save is reminiscent of the infamous scorpion kick save done by the Colombian goalkeeper René Higuita against England in 1995.

When the ball fell for a rebound, it was Reo who did a damn good clearance, using his chameleon skill, he did a Nagi, and boy hell what a sweet pass it was, blue lock went on the counter, and there was some sweet passing with Isagi being the maker of it. Nagi doing some amazing foot control on the ball, just when Isagi was out to get a goal, Sae cuts it. Just when he was losing hope, Rin came in, it was a mad dash for the ball. The surprising goal scorer emerged, Barou. And damn what a shot, that goal totally levels the game 3-3.

It’s pretty cool, that Oliver actually wants blue lock players to surpass him.

Blue lock episode 33 + 34 review

Episode 33 – Rin / Sae special

Chigiri’s older sister is cute

I do love how some of the boys families get some screen time. I do think the main point on this episode will be Rin and Sae, as in the beginning they emphasised their once strong connection as siblings. Bacchira’s mum is a cutie so is Chigiri’s older sister, love how Eitya wants to date her. Had me chuckle there. Sae thinking the team is just trash, is about to leave, when he reveals to the team that he and Oliver had a bet. That if they losing, he can do what he wants. Oliver plays a card up his sleeve, in the name of Shidou. Dang with the bad boy coming in the second half, it ain’t looking good for the blue lock boys. As I suspected, this is a Rin and Sae episode special.

Two brothers are inseparable as kids

Looking back at the boys’ relationships as kids, and I have to say it’s actually pretty sweet seeing two brothers, just being brothers. With Rin just wanting to be by his brother’s side. No sibling rivalry.

So, it’s pretty sad that the two brothers don’t get along with each other now. To note, the team Royal that Sae is playing for is most likely Real Madrid. The attitude and mentality are literally night and day with Rin. From a happy boy, who just wanted to play soccer with his brother (and waiting to be scouted by big teams in Europe). To how he is now, cold and anti-social.

Good question, I guess he’ll resent you for the entire series?

Also to note; Europe has a higher playing standard than most leagues around the world, they are; England, Spain, Germany, Italy. It should be no surprise either, that is where most of the big clubs in Europe are based.

Honestly, there is nothing wrong with being a midfielder. Some of best players are midfielders. I do think Rin’s mentality is a bit outdated there. It’s like back in the day, when being a defender wasn’t cool, now it’s pretty much a position that is vital and accepted as cool. It was a bit cold of Rin to also say, that being a midfielder is lame, so in reality, it was Rin who started this whole issue, when Sae just wanted to play with his brother, as he got a much better perspective of playing at a higher standard. Wanting to alleviate Rin isn’t a problem.

kicking balls, duh Sae!

I do think Sae’s reaction is hostile and extreme though. Even downright cold to disown him like that. This new Sae devastated Rin. And it where we are now, bad blood between the siblings.

Episode 34 – The subs debut

He jizzing his shorts?

Wow, I joked about some bl stuff with Rin and Shidou, didn’t expect it be almost real. With Shidou on the field, this really changes the game plan for the blue lock team. Note: a sub that can drastically change the game for the team is normally referred to as a super sub. Niko decides to man mark Shidou as he feels he can neutralise him in a way, which ended badly for him, as he ended up with a yellow card for a reckless tackle. I do like the thoughts Niko is giving to Isagi. Niko essentially realised that with the changes, Sendou is now playing support, mirroring Isagi’s role.

Yup, the next goal will dictate the tone of the match

This has opened up new goal scoring opportunities. As I mentioned in the previous episode. Niko is beginning to enjoy his role as a defender. That hasn’t stopped Isagi noticing from an injury though.

With a free kick given, I’m very surprised that Sae gave words of encouragement to Shidou. This type of free kick is fairly common, faking out defending teams, however it does need very creative player(s) to make it work, Sae is the one that took it, and he is looking for Shidou to drive home the goal, I do feel bad for Chigiri, he just missed it by inches. And what a damn goal from the bad boy, 2-2, scores have levelled now. Uh-oh, Niko and Chigiri down, looks like Ego is using two subs, wonder who they will be, they have to shut down the chemical combo of Shidou-Sae. Dang, Reo and Hiori, have to say, those are damn good subs. Feel bad for Chigiri though, he is devastated, he really wanted to play out the full match.

Anri is pretty cute

I do like the reunion of Nagi and Reo, go team!! with Hiori on the team, it does slow down the pace of the team, however, with his vision and passing, it opens up different playstyles. I do love Nagi’s reaction to Dobermann, with a sweet pass to Isagi, who was about to take a direct shot, when Oliver comes up again to be a bloody thorn at his side. And intercepts too. With a swift counterattack, the ball is back in blue lock’s half. Reo’s job is to man-mark Shidou. With his chamelon skill.

Well looks like we have two players with bl intentions

Note: man-mark is when a player is specifically marked by an opposing player. This is to reduce his impact in the game and to not let him score any goals.

Episode 31 – The come back

Kenyu making a mad dash to pass Teppei

With Oliver leading the defence, the boys in blue lock are having a hard time with their offence. Each team member meets a counterpart, that bests them in their role. They are: Darai Miroku (Eitya), Neru Teppei, (Kenyu), Niou Kazuma (Nagi). These 4 make up the iron-wall defence for the U-20, designed to assist Sae, who passes it to Chou Kento, who out classed Jybei, with a pass to Kitsunezato Teru, who beats Tabito, to pass it back to Sae. To note catenaccio is a very defensive playstyle. A patient, build up, that relies on passing the ball around, whilst preventing goal-scoring opportunities.

With Sae on the ball, Niko and Chigiri try to stop him, with a looping pass, he passes it to top scorer Sendou Shuto, Gagamaru did a great save, only for it to fall into the path of the incoming Sae, who with a wicked curling overhead angle shot, gets on the score board. 1-0 to U-20. Isagi notices, that this match is only to further Sae.

Yeah, I can make that expression too!!!

Rin notices Isagi beginning to fall into despair, with words of encouragement, as a captain should, will lead his team to victory. Sae really is an arrogant player, he looks down on his own teammates, particular to Sendou. I love the interaction between Jybei and Gagamaru, the glam master was impressed.

Ego is right, the U-20 team are use to the stress, the expectations, the fans etc. Whilst the blue lock team aren’t. No matter how much training you do, you aren’t prepared for the factors that could slip you up and make mistakes. He wants them to block out those factors, can understand Anri’s concern though.

Pin-up boy Sendou ain’t looking pretty!

Wakatsuki Itsuki, stands in the way of Rin. Itsuki notices how they are playing shorter passes. Playing shorter passes, allows more teammates to get involved, keeping the ball more, it also allows quick plays, this has fast build up.

The shock!!

With a back heel pass, Bachira gets involved, and what a damn pass he gives to Rin, who tries to emulate his brother’s goal. That doesn’t work; however it falls to Kenyu. With some passes, it ends to Nagi, and holy hell, that goal is amazing! shocking everyone in the stadium.

Episode 32 – Sibling rivalry

Brotherly rivalry

I do love how Nagi thought holding his fist up was cringe, only for him to get jumped on by Chigiri and Isagi. The name Nagi is now spreading. Anri gets a good exposition dump on why they were able to score, it was down to Rin. He dictated the play; by doing so, he was able to get the other teammates involved, which in turn threw off the U-20s play. In a twisted way, Rin is a very good leader. He subtly gets others involved, which is a stark difference to his brother Sae. Who rejects and looks down upon others, not that difference from each other though.

Both brothers tussling with each other

This episode is more about the sibling showdown between Rin and Sae. Who will be the better player out of the brothers. This is a mirror of Phil and Gary Nevile in a way. Niko was selected purposefully because he has the ability to read the field or rather movements of players. By using this ability, he was able to work out fake-play played by Sae to Sendou. He anticipated this move and was able to pass to it Tabito.

How the entire setup is

Tabito was able to understand how their play works. Their midfield works in tandem with their defenders, who play a zonal marking system. By having each other’s backs, they make a very strong defensive team. When it gets really critical, Oliver turns up. I do like the link play Eita and Tabito have. Oliver now understanding the motivation of blue lock, he wants to stop them at all costs, thinking they were just nobodies. Just when he thought he had Rin scouted, a pin perfect curve shot goes in, and damn what a goal it was, Rin gets one back at Sae.

Rin powering up to 9,000!!

Also, I loved how Chigiri just flew past Oliver down the right flank. With U-20 behind, Sae in his own way, motivates the rest of the team. With that, the U-20 make a mad dash to score, each time they try, they are intercepted by the blue lock players. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Rin this infuriated by a player, his own brother pisses him off. He intercepts a pass by Sae, who takes a wicked shot, only for it to be intercepted by Jybei.

Madan no Ou to Vanadis Episode 1

Hey up peeps, this is something different I’m doing. I’m bringing over posts I did years a go over at another blog that I ran from 2015-2018. Sadly, I don’t have access to a deleted email address, so can’t exactly bring the post over, yeah copy and paste my own posts … that is something amusing or new. Anyway, I’m kind of modernizing it, at least I think that’s what I’m doing. I’ll let you peeps decide.

The Unwanted Undead Adventurer Episode 1 review: Being reborn as an undead

Reign of the seven spell blades Episode 1: HP the anime

The story is set in a fantasy European medieval era. A young noble Brune, named Tigrevurmund “Tigre” Vorn is captured as a prisoner of war by Eleanor Viltaria or ‘Elen’ for short. Elen is a war maiden of Zhcted. A nation that is warring with Brune. Tigre notices a small envoy with Elen in the middle. He contemplates that by taking down Elen, the enemy will be confused, leaderless and rich for the pickings by his side. He takes up a strategic position, in wait to ambush the enemy. Elen has noticed him up ahead. With good aim he has taken down two of Elen soldiers. It seems that Elen, is no novice when it comes to dealing with “annoying” or rather interesting men. It is no surprising that she is very skilled with the blade she wields. Being a Vanadis (a war-maiden), she wields a sword called Arifar.

Tigre the bowman that can hit a moving target with a busted bow

Point of interest:

  • Tigre has a rather long name. So it’s shortened to “Tigre” which is Spanish for tiger.
  • Elen’ is nick name is Silver Wind.
  • Tigre is an excellent marksman. He is able to hit his target from a long distance with ease.
Elen the war maiden that surprisingly wields a sword

Elen is treating Tigre with some respect for his skills – as it impressed her greatly on the field. And she wanted to show off his prodigious skills with the bow to her men, who through their jealously, tried to sabotage him. Elen certainly knows how to deal with people, whilst Tigre is coming across as this idealist, tot wanting to kill people. Elen has fallen for Tigre’ “bow skills” – though her claim is not so ambiguous. Much to Lim’ chagrin, amusingly. For a prisoner of war, Tigre is surprisingly enjoying the prisoner life. As he enjoys all the simpler things that is normalised for the Zhcted army. Things which he never experienced before.

An introductory episode. The episode certainly let us know who is really in charge and that would be Elen. For me Elen, showed all the qualities of a strong, independent women. Who knew what she wanted and knew how to take it. Tigre on the other hand came across as meek. He was uncertain for the most part, this could be attributed to the fact that he’s never been in a position of power. This also explains the fact that he is very inexperienced. And never been in a serious battle. Whilst Elen has probably been in many. The animation isn’t too bad, even after a decade. I suspect that Tigre will develop later on. But for now, Elen will be the one in charge of their “relationship”. Even if it is one sided.
