20201211 Het is vijf jaar na het klimaatakkoord van Parijs. En het klimaatprobleem is groter dan ooit. De broeikasemissies blijven stijgen, we zien hittegolven, bosbranden, smeltende poolkappen en orkanen. We hebben te maken met verlies van biodiversiteit, uitsterving van soorten en vernietiging van volledige ecosystemen. Als de temperatuur blijft stijgen zullen in het zuiden van de planeet miljoenen mensen als eerste hun huis verliezen. De klimaatcrisis treft ons allemaal, en we hebben nog maar een paar jaar om er iets aan te doen. Wetenschappers luiden de noodklok, maar onze overheden weigeren de realiteit onder ogen te zien. Ze blijken niet in staat haar eigen klimaatdoelen te behalen, en blijven doorgaan met het beschermen, promoten en subsidiëren van schadelijke industrieën die ons verder de afgrond in helpen. Over de hele wereld komen mensen in opstand. Mensen gaan de straat op, slepen overheden voor de rechter, en eisen verandering. En toch gaat het in de Nederlandse media amper over de klimaatcrisis waar we middenin zitten. En dat terwijl de komende jaren cruciaal zijn. We hebben nog een kans op een leefbare toekomst, als we onze aarde de aandacht geven die ze verdient. Daarom Omroep Groen. 20201124 ONE MORE DAY Tomorrow is the last day that all donations to Animal Rebellion NL will be doubled. For every 5 euro you donate, we will receive 10! And we need it so hard! All volunteers who are involved with Animal Rebellion, are doing this for free, and all our donations are used for our actions. For your 5 euro we can print posters and flyers, buy paint and materials to make banners, pay for legal costs for rebels who are being arrested (the fines they pay themselves) etc etc. And organizing actions is very necessary. It’s never been as necessary as it is today. We are in the middle of a worldwide crisis. A pandemic. And an ecological crisis. Every year more people die as a result of natural disasters and climate change. Our environment is dying in a terrifying speed, and we only have a few more years to do something about it. To prevent the 6th mass extinction, we will need to reduce our Co2 emissions to net zero by 2025. This won’t be possible with our current foodsystem. We have to start a transition to a plantbased foodsystem. The only foodsystem that is just and sustainable for everyone. We don’t need to expect anything from our government.
