Just watched live coverage of the attempted landing of ispace's lunar lander Hakuto-R mission, the first commercial lunar lander. Communications with the lander was lost when lander was only a few meters above the lunar surface. I can only hope that the lander did make it, but that the jarring of the landing simply cut off comms. I'm hoping they can regain communication and confirm that the lander made it safely. Also, relatedly, listening in on the crew's individual speeches they're each giving, and I gotta say, they truly seem like AMAZING people. Which in my personal experience, tends to be who astronauts are, as just a baseline. But wow, WHAT A CREW. I recommend taking a few minutes to listen to them (I expect it'll be up on NASA's youtube soon if not already). These are the people representing humanity to go deep into space. Worth taking the time to get to know them! So freaking cool. #WeAreGoing
