I deleted the #Windows partition from my laptop yesterday 😀 I have been working on this for a while and now feel confident I can do everything I want or need on my #Ubuntu #Linux environment.
This includes, video editing in #Kdenlive, programming, everyday browsing, dabble with music with #Reaper, play games on #Steam etc.
I did hit a snag Friday while updating to 26.04 LTS where #Cinnamon did not work, apparently due to the move to #Wayward. I did try the experimental version and several suggested workarounds but nothing worked for me. Now I am using Ubuntu desktop (#Gnome) with ArcMenu and Dash to Panel and I am liking it. I doubt I will go back to Cinnamon, even though a fix will likely be available in the next few months.
I have tried several Linux distros through the years starting with Ubuntu around the time it came out, but have mostly kept to Windows. Now I am back to Ubuntu (after considering #LinuxMint which I run on a another, older hardware) and I am exclusively (at home) on Linux and it feels awesome. Pretty incredible bang for the buck (Linux being free :-) ) and I love the idea of #OpenSource and I am surprised every day to find more incredible #OSS projects.
