Extreme Cold Persists in the Northeast With Record-Setting Temperatures

I'm back from being in Canada. I left a day early because there is going to be a significant storm Monday in the Syracuse, NY area, and I have to drive there.

"You dodged a snowstorm. Masterful!"

Yeah... I dodged a snowstorm, only to land smack-dab into another. I wouldn't call this "masterful."

"What happened?"

Syracuse, NY was indeed fine today (Sunday). If it snowed there, it was a few isolated flakes. However, the Watertown area, and north of it, was mightily walloped.

"Walloped how?"

At some point, I was driving at 25mph (in a 65mph zone) in a thick layer of snow and in near white-out conditions.

"Did you have an accident?"

No, I just moderated my speed, and kept my cool. I was lucky that idiots who decided to drive in such conditions were few. (Yes, I include myself in the group. 🤡)

Lake-Effect Storm Brings Heavy Snow to Great Lakes Region

Forecasters warned that some areas would be “paralyzed” by the storm. Nearly three feet of snow had already accumulated in Perrysburg, N.Y., about 30 miles south of Buffalo.

Iowa up 6 over West Virgina. People are really into it here. I don't know why. We are probably 1000 miles from either state
