Elena can now use the brakes, though it did take damaging the front reflector to get her to realise that she needed to learn to stretch her fingers that little bit more to reach them (;*

#LearningToRide

In a hiatus from bike riding we took another walk in #Watermead North Country Park, and discovered what we think is to be a maze, and also a Reedbed Nature Reserve that is only open three days of the week, closed on the day.

Elena definitely wants to take a look when it's next open.

Just took Elena back, with a quick stop to feed the birds in #Watermead Country Park. It's a little warm out, but I think it was better to get her home now than try later when it's even warmer.
So, now you know, if you're wondering where all the birds went as from Monday (19th July) in #Watermead North Country Park they're in hide-ing (;*

Never got an email reply to my query, so I sent a message to the Facebook page for #Watermead North Country Park, this afternoon:

"[Rib-cage climbing-frame] was removed for safety reasons, due to general wear & tear &, unfortunately vanderlism (sic). As far as we are aware there are no plans to replace this structure. However we are making other improvements such as the small maze near to the car park, tree trail and new seating benches. Our bird hides will also be opening from Monday."

Found it...

I give you the #Watermead Polar Bear

Haven't yet made it to see the Polar Bear at #Watermead I was going today but doing stuff in the back garden intervened.

Hopefully I'll manage the walk tomorrow, since it's only just a little way on from the Mammoth.

I've emailed a query about it to the relevant authorities, so just have to wait to see if they'll respond.

#Watermead

Went on a walk to #Watermead in order to make sure that if a certain young lady (yclept Elena) comes at the weekend I'll know which way to go when walking with her to see the sights.

Arrived where I wanted only to discover that having sold Elena on a dinosaur climbing frame that we'd go and see, it turns out that the climbing frame has been removed.

No idea how long ago, or whether it's been temporarily taken down due to COVID. It's still mentioned online and in guides. So, who knowsโ€ฝ:*
