Good to see the European Commission determined to ensure water security & step up preparedness for water-related disasters. How can we build a #WaterSmartEconomy? Europe is a global leader in water technology, holding 40% of all patents globally. Its water industry generates €107 billion and supports 1.7 million jobs. the text has been considerably emptied of all strategies based on science and which proposed a harmonize approach with nature.
right wing parties recognize the need for a water strategy, because we all see the severe droughts and the horrible floods. But then they leave no real solutions on the plate.... bc they would be too "green".
