At the heart of Sri Lanka, a towering rock formation known as Sigiriya rises dramatically from the surrounding plains. Beneath this monumental site lies one of the most beautiful and advanced ancient water gardens in the world—a seamless blend of landscape design, hydraulic engineering, and cultural symbolism. #ancientengineering #rockfortress #Sigiriya #SriLankanheritage #watergardens

Here is an update on the pond and homemade hypertufa rocks. They came out lighter than I expected but I'm not unhappy about it as they show up nicely. The algae has not settled down yet, but hopefully it will clear up soon. The sedums around the edge were just planted and the false Cypress was newly transplanted. Inside the pond are lotus (grown from seeds) a very small water Lily, and a couple of water hyacinth.
Please excuse Lucy, she feels the need to pose for all outdoor photos.
Hoping by summer these bags of mud and tubers turn into lush lotus blooms.
