We visited #RomaStreet Parklands, entering from #Brisbane City Hall way. Passing the amphitheatre venue of the Moonlight cinema we entered the Spectacle Garden, surrounded by scampering eastern #WaterDragons camouflaged against the paths. The bright displays & varied planting were spectacular even under dull skies. We circled a lake to the rainforest & fern gully area, the vibe changing dramatically & feeling very far from the bustling city. A beautiful place to lose yourself in.

Wildlife on display at the Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA) bistro in Brisbane today.

I hadn't realised that male water dragons could change their dewlap colour on the fly, but this one was doing that as we watched. Whether he felt threatened by the smaller female, or was looking for love, we couldn't tell. The female may have been pregnant. She had a very round little belly.
