yahoo news | ‘Epstein Egg Hunt’ sends liberals scouring Manhattan for $200 prize — as organiz...

A liberal youth group called Disrupt organized an “Epstein Easter Egg Hunt” in Manhattan, inviting about 45 participants to search Washington Square Park and other city locations for plastic eggs that contained QR codes linking to Jeffrey Epstein files. Each egg held a quiz question, with correct answers earning points, while special golden eggs concealed redacted documents. The event’s tagline—“Release the names, release the names, release the names”—was chanted by the crowd as they dispersed throughout the city, hunting for the eggs hidden in roughly 800 spots, including locations mentioned in the files such as Epstein’s former Upper East Side apartment and Trump Tower.

During the hunt, Disrupt’s founder and president, 28‑year‑old Carlos Calzadilla‑Palacio, was issued a summons and fined $50 by the NYC Department of Parks & Recreation for holding an “Epstein table” without a permit. The group denounced the citation as a violation of the First Amendment, asserting that the penalties were aimed at suppressing their political activity. Calzadilla‑Palacio, who described Disrupt as a counter‑movement to Turning Point USA, said the fine was an attempt to stifle their anti‑TPUSA stance.

First‑place winner Everett J. Walk said the experience gave him an unsettling new perspective on Epstein’s crimes, describing the event as both informative and disquieting. He recalled feeling a need to “take a shower” after learning more about the hidden files. The hunt, framed as a “golden‑ticket‑style” quest across Manhattan, highlighted the lingering public fascination with Epstein’s case while also sparking debate over the legality of using public park space for politically charged activism.
