Turns out it was the French marine biologist Jeanne Villepreux-Power.

So the Washington Black series is complete fiction, at least wrt the aquarium stuff. That said IMO the author could have incorporated Jeanne Villepreux-Power into the novel.

In any case its an enjoyable little adventure.

Keine Ahnung, weshalb Disney+ die sehr gute Drama-Serie #WashingtonBlack als Jules-Verne-like adventure verkauft. Damit verprellen sie Zuschauer, mehr als die erste Folge ein paar Minuten lang anzuschauen.
