I was all set to do my reading at BookFest when an unhoused army veteran jumped the queue and gave a soliloquy about how he lives in the woods away from people and eats skunks, squirrels, rats, mice, and cockroaches. It’s shameful how war vets are reduced to living on the margins of society.
