In #WarRavagedPortland our rubbish, recycling, and yard waste bins are dumped on holidays too, including Thanksgrifting and Crassmas. Nice that this work keeps things tidy and on schedule, but I don’t put our bins out. Every brief stop of the trucks that can be avoided prevents some idling tallpipe exhaust from entering the atmosphere, and helps the driver to get home to his family sooner.
