ISIS has connections to enhanced CIA interrogation. Which became global terror that weakened Pan-Arab Socialism, toppled the Arab World; created a problem sells a solution.
#currentevent #war #WarOnTerrorism
Sure we destroyed a few countries for the #WarOnTerrorism which sounds bad but like. Turns out it's totally OK to invade countries if you have a great reason. Like terrorism or stuff. But then the problem was the baddies are protected under the Geneva conventions in war. Even criminals would get due process. And civilians are totally of limits unless, whoops, clumsy me! So we had to invent a new category of illegal combatants who you can do anything you want to, like torture to death etc. Cool.

The Listening Post is a show I've been working on for nearly two decades (!)

It began in the years after the #IraqWar when #media critique was turbo charged by the phenomenal collapse of #journalism in the #US, #UK and elsewhere.

The show has covered what some still call the #waronterrorism, #wikileaks, #media hits and misses from #Australia to #Brazil to #China...

Check out the Listening Post's #intro post. If it interests you, do follow:

The Listening Post (@[email protected])

#Introduction Hi, we’re the Listening Post, a weekly show that covers the way the #news is covered. We go out on #AlJazeera English. We’ve been dissecting and analysing the #media since 2006. From #news, to #tvseries, to #film, to #colonial postcards (yes, really) - we examine and explain the forces that shape the narratives all around us. If you’re interested in the global media, follow us!

@Antiwarcom's @scotthortonshow on why #TulsiGabbard is not actually an anti-war, pro-peace candidate:

she opposes regime change in Syria (good) but she sounds like George W. Bush or Barack Obama on #WarOnTerrorism, denying blowback & blaming everything on "radical Islam."
