In one month, we spent 7X Iran's annual defense budget (adjusted for Gross Domestic Product). Since our war budget is only about 3X theirs, they do spend a lot. But when you have oil, you get attacked.
It was back when Iran elected a liberal who nationalized their oil (taking it back from a Co. that became British Petrol), that we (CIA, Brits) installed dictators (1953), like we do.
