After rain on Sunday morning in the Ikara-Flinders National Park, South Australia, dozens of #wallaroos and western grey #kangaroos used the road as a convenient drink receptacle. Most of them stood around the white lines in the middle and at the sides of the road, presumably since that's where the water was most exposed.
Is this habit a major factor contributing to kangaroo road casualties? Would this be reduced if road markings were less smooth?
