The Secret 6 (1931), an MGM pre-code gangster movie with added vigilante justice elements. MGM's gangster movies had a flavour of their own. Fast-paced and very violent, with star-making performances by Jean Harlow and Clark Gable. Good stuff.

I’m going to breakfast tomorrow. I don’t often do that. I will order a ham steak and black coffee, because if me and Wallace Beery were in a truck driver movie in the 30’s and our characters got breakfast, that’s what they would have. If the diner has the kind of pie that goes around in a glass carousel, I will get a piece, any flavor. If their pie is stationary, I will have none. #WallaceBeery
