Today in Labor History March 7, 1942: IWW cofounder and anarchist labor organizer Lucy Parsons died on this date in Chicago, Illinois. Lucy Parsons was part African American and part Native American. Her mother had been a slave. In 1871, she married Albert Parsons, a Confederate soldier, in Waco, Texas. Soon after, they were forced to flee due to racism, moving to Chicago. There they participated in the Great Upheaval of worker rebellions that swept across the U.S. in 1877. They were also active in the movement for the 8-hour day and other worker movements. In 1887, the authorities executed Albert, along with several other anarchists, for the Haymarket bombing, even most hadn’t been present at the bombing. In 1905, Lucy Parsons cofounded the IWW, along with Eugene Debs, Mother Jones, Big Bill Haywood and others. In 1915, she organized the Chicago Hunger Demonstrations. They were so effective that they pushed the AFL, the Socialist Labor Party and the Hull House to participate. In 1925, she participated in the International Labor Defense, which defended workers, communists, the Scottsboro Nine and others.

10 things about Waco, Texas’s Joseph Rosenbaum
Joseph Donald “Jojo” Rosenbaum was an American criminal originally from Waco, Texas, United States. He later moved to Arizona, USA then to Wisconsin, USA.
Joseph RosenbaumBIOGRAPHY
Rosenbaum was one of the men Kyle H. Rittenhouse shot on August 25, 2020 while they were in the same Black Lives Matter demonstration in Kenosha, Wisconsin. During the demonstration, the latter was one of the armed civilians who wanted to protect businesses from vandalism.
Wearing a red shirt, Rosenbaum was one of the protesters demanding justice for Jacob Blake, who was shot by Kenosha Police Department officer Rusten Sheskey in the back at least eight times on August 23, 2020. On November 5, 2021, former U.S. Marine Jason Lackowski , a former U.S. Marine Corps officer who also attended the demonstration, he testified in court and said he saw Rosenbaum asking “very bluntly to shoot him” and taking a few “false steppings,” enticing someone “to do something.”
Rittenhouse was carrying a Smith & Wesson AR-15 style .223 rifle. When Rosenbaum threw a plastic bag at Rittenshouse and tried to grab the rifle, the former shot the latter in the back, groin and left hand.
In addition to the superficial wound to Rosenbaum’s left thigh and a graze wound to his forehead, his pelvis was also fractured and his right lung and liver were perforated. Here are 10 more things about him:
TIMELINE
Rosenbaum was 5’3″ tall. His registered weight was 165 pounds.

Attached: 4 images Day 1 morning #Waco: 4.6km hike in the "very berry" hills of Cameron Park. Trail is shared "hike & bike", and I can't even begin to imagine how anyone might ride a bike there, but apparently people do. Would've liked to hike more but decided to only get an idea of the trail for another visit and save energy for activities later in the day. "Jacob's Ladder", great river & forest views, lots of hackberries, surprisingly large amt of bamboo. #hiking #health #photography #amateur #nature #trails
