I often see lots of herons along the River Dee when out walking, but came across this one in a small pond in a local park.

Sadly, the pond also had 10+ American skunk cabbages growing which are now classified as an invasive species in the UK. I've reported this to the Scottish Invasive Species Initiative so hopefully they can be managed soon.

On Sunday we visited our local RSPB site, Strumpshaw Fen.

Becky spotted a leucistic male Pheasant! We’d never seen one before, it was roaming in the horse paddocks next to the site.
