Ich habe in jüngerer Zeit ein paar mal #Warlock! spielen können - ein British- #osr Liebesbrief an #Warhammer / #wfrpg von Greg Saunders. Das regeltechnische Leichtgewicht integriert Elemente aus Fighting Fantasy (chose your own adventure-Bücher) und #wfrpg 1st ed. Mein Eindruck: das Spiel wird dem düster-schrulligen Vibe der „Old World“ gerechter als neue Warhammer Editionen und macht viel Spaß. Habt ihr Warlock! schon mal gespielt? Was sind eure Eindrücke? #pnpde 1/2

@BlauesLicht @HeyeBodo das morgige #Zombhell hat mich auch veranlasst, wieder mal #OutbreakUndead zu lesen. Ist halt wirklich kein OSR, aber das Setting ist cool.

Vllt. adaptiere ich Zombhell und baue da eine OU-Kampagne drum rum. 🤔

Nachdem ich #WFRPG Abenteuer zumindest auf dem Papier in #Warlock! umbauen konnte, habe ich jetzt Zeit, Zombies zu transponieren 😜

Thanks to our #osr open table, I had the opportunity today to test my historically inspired #hexcrawl (still in early development): Late Medieval Fantastic Campaign – Frisia Orientalis. It was fun. My impression is that the approach of merging historical information (NW Germany around 1400 CE) with elements from local folklore let to a pretty gameable result. For the playtest, we used Greg Saunders’ Warlock! rules system. First time I ran a game of Warlock! Impressive love letter to #wfrpg

@pastwarranty Sounds cool! Dan Masters‘ #5e / #osr hack #Deathbringer has a simple corruption mechanic. Since #Deathbringer and #Shadowdark scale equally in terms of ability modifiers, it should be easy to use it as inspiration for your hack. IMO you can clearly recognize #Wfrpg as one influence of Dan Masters‘ fun little game. It has pretty warhammeresque backgrounds („Ratcatcher“), a „random misery“ table, and embraces the grim and perilous.

I am reading through the #DungeonCrawlClassics rule book and it is giving me the vibes of games like the #PalladiumFantasyRPG and the #WarhammerFantasyRPG that I played as a kid. The over the top art and scary magic are lots of fun.

As an example, the Cleric' "Lay On Hands" ability is way more evocative than "Cure Light Wounds" in Dungeons and Dragons.
