Interesting paper using genomics and epidemiology showing translocation of Pseudomonas from the gut to lungs of a ICU patient.

Crucially, this carried meropenem resistance genes between the 2 compartments

An elegant demonstration of a process we know occurs (e.g. micro-aspiration of gut content in these patients) and an excellent reminder of need to minimise antibiotic prescriptions.
