Democrat Taylor Rehmet flips Texas state Senate seat

Democrat Taylor Rehmet has won a special election for the Texas state Senate and flipped a reliably Republican district that President Donald Trump won by 17 points in 2024. The labor union leader and veteran easily defeated Republican conservative activist Leigh Wambsganss in the Fort Worth-area district. Trump distanced himself from the loss Sunday, after urging votes for Wambsganss a day earlier. Rehmet was victorious with support from national organizations. Rehmet's win lasts only until early January. He is to face Wambsganss again in the November general election to decide the seat for a full four-year term.

Eat me. You know damned well why #prop50 is on the ballot, and it has nothing to do with #Democrats seeking an unfair advantage. It has everything to do with Republican MAGAts seeking an unfair advantage. Governor #Newsom and the state of California are in the best position to neutralize Texas' undemocratic gambit.

Furthermore, if I were a taxpayer in Newport Beach or Orange, I would be SO PISSED OFF that my tax dollars were going to support YET ANOTHER doomed and meritless lawsuit against the state. Are all your priorities so well funded that you have money to burn on your quixotic attacks on the state? Hey, Westminster: that gang problem all cleared up now, is it?
