It actually makes sense for humans living in Space for long periods to evolve head bones instead of hair if it offers protection against radiation.
This event (B5 being destroyed) need not take place immediately at the end of a five year saga. It could coincide with the future Centauri Prime seen in "War Without End" with the Drakh and their existing allies in the Psi Corps taking revenge against Sheridan for allowing a colony of Rouge telepaths to remain on Babylon 5.

A large blue swirl that appeared in the night sky and within the aurora borealis did not have to do with #aliens but was probably a fuel dump from a SpaceX rocket launch.
