Attached: 2 images Someone left their bike and helmet unattended outside the Information Technology Faculty building at uni and this little noisy miner bird took advantage of it and built a nest in the helmet. There are only great hair days for our black redstart #hatchlings! 🐣 💅🏼

By the way, there are five of them! 🤯 One fell out of the nest the day before yesterday, but we put it back in (but not really thinking it would survive because it must have been hours). It's hard to see, but I thought I saw five bodies wiggling in there earlier? I don't want to climb up there too often because the parents are not big fans of us.

Our black redstarts pulled it off!! I became an auntie yesterday (I think)!!! 😍 The female must have laid new eggs (or added one more) because there are four #hatchlings now 🐣

Da es in den nächsten Tagen über 30°C heiß werden soll, und unser #Nistkasten nach radikalem Rückschnitt der #Hecke im Winter etwas ungeschützt der Sonne ausgesetzt ist, haben wir den #Meisen Piepsies einen #Sonnenschutz aus einem #Regenschirm gebaut. Nicht, dass sie da drin einen Hitzschlag bekommen.

Oh no! I've got no luck with birds today. 😞 We're working on the terrace again and saw some nesting materials in a small corner between the wooden beams yesterday. Now we wanted to clean the space and discovered that it wasn't just some nesting materials, but a neat little nest! Probably from a pair of black redstarts. But after disturbing them for two whole days, I guess it's safe to assume that they abandoned the nest. I'm so sorry, little birds! 🥺

A bird chose our orchard for their offspring. I found the eggs 9 days ago. They're still there ☺️ but I wonder who's going to hatch here as I couldn't find a corresponding photo.

The eggs are almost as large as small chicken eggs. Maybe I should install a camera trap. 🤔️
