Back in the 40 years when I didn't drink or use weed, I often wondered what I'd be like1 if I were drunk or high. These questions could be seen to boil down to this: will I be even more myself (including the parts I don't prefer to share with others)? Or will I be someone else?
I'm still not 100% sure what the answer is, partly because, in the 10 years I've been OK with drinking etc., I've never been so drunk or stoned that I've hit that inflection point, if that makes sense. but I keep thinking of the question.
1 The answer, as it turns out, is "prone to singing Mexican love songs at high volume", but that doesn't definitively answer the question.
