Today I read a comment on X from a guy saying he has visual snow syndrome and that his whole family has it too. Scrolling through the replies, I realized it’s way more common than I thought… man, what an awful condition.
So, when they do a 3D render, even if they use denoising it doesn’t make any difference? #visual #snow #syndrome #visualsnowsyndrome

Visual snow syndrome - Wikipedia

Experience: I see the world through a layer of snow

My condition has a name – visual snow syndrome – and it could be with me for the rest of my life

The Guardian
Have you heard about visual snow syndrome? Do you suffer from it yourself? Did you find a treatment?
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visual_snow_syndrome #vss #visualsnowsyndrome ... is an uncommon neurological condition in which the primary symptom is visual snow, a persistent flickering white, black, transparent, or colored dots across the whole visual field.

I really do have a hell of a combination to ensure my head hurts a lot.

1. I have #tourettes which comorbid comes with #migraine like headaches that are caused by suppression of #tics if I do it too much, essentially my nervous system overloading.

2. Constant neck/shoulder strain from dystonic tics that make me subconsciously tense my shoulders.

3. #visualsnowsyndrome which has actual migraines as an extremely common comorbid condition.

Where's my ibuprofen...

Doing some more research into #visualsnowsyndrome I came across a video that accurately shows it pretty well minus the night blindness.

This is how I see the world, anyone else?

It is so strange realizing new things with yourself in life. I seriously thought this was everyone.

I just discovered I have a new condition:

#visualsnowsyndrome.

Here I thought everyone saw that way, like TV static across everything but RGB.

So far we are up to:

#tourettes #adhd #obsessivecompulsivedisorder #cptsd #asthma #insomnia facial neuralgia, peripheral neuralgia, #synesthesia, just being plain eccentric, and now visual snow syndrome.

Whatever made my soul must have hit the randomizer.

Last night I learned about the visual snow syndrome. I guess I've always had that? I thought people usually saw things as if through a kind of static.

Also,
✅ Seeing floaters
✅ Photophobia (bright light hurts)
✅ Seeing negative after images

I thought everyone had those and just learned to ignore them most of the time like I do?

Oh yeah, I also get migraines with auras sometimes, but luckily those are rare these days. The auras for me appear as absences of things in my visual field, so I know that's definitely not the same.

Anyway, I'm not a doctor... Maybe I'm just over self diagnosing or smh.

Someone made an overlay for Windows and Android that is supposed to reduce the symptoms of Visual Snow Syndrome. I haven't tried it yet but i downloaded it 2 minutes ago. People report on Reddit that it gives them relief.

If you don't know what this is about, keep reading because i myself only found out i have it through others as no eye doctor ever mentioned it to me. Visual Snow Syndrome is when you have some kind of subtle noise over your complete vision. It's similar to when you rub your eyes intensly and then open them and you see tiny moving dots or lights for a while. For some it's always there, for others only in specific times of day or only in the dark or when looking at dark things / shadows or only when their eyes are opened. For some the noise moves, for others it doesn't. It can make it difficult to see in the dark or car or traffic lights or it can reduce the intensity of colors you see. It's similar to Tinnitus but for your eyes.
