Two weeks in #belgium🇧🇪 were over too fast some summers ago and so was my photographic #journey into some facts and parts of #worldwar1. Not only was #inflandersfields created at this place, indeed the youngest fallen hero is buried here: #vjstrudwick is told to have fallen at the age of 15 - unbelievable and sad! 😢 Lest we forget all those who gave their utter sacrifice for freedom - true heroes they were!

What captivated me about this photo taken in #Brussels was the vertical #symmetry of the person walking, the colour combination of their clothes, the headphones and how it fits vertically in with the tower in the background. On either side, however, there is #asymmetry, with construction fences on one side and people in the fountain on the other.

Verbeke Foundation.

If you are in #Belgium and you want something to see/do that is out of the ordinary, the #Verbeke Foundation in #Stekene is worth considering.

Apart from a discarded Russian #helicopter, there are old trains and vehicles and about every other industrial heritage item you can think of (there is even a full blown nucleair shelter!) Also temporal and permanent expositions of Belgian and international artists.

In fact, there is so much to see that your time will be shorthanded.
