Pedestrian hit and killed at 16th Street and Rondel Place near Valencia A man was hit and killed early Sunday morning at the intersection of 16th Street and Rondel Place, an alleyway near Valencia Street, according to the San Francisco Police Department. Officers responded to “a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian” at approximately 2:43 a.m., the department stated. On April 26, Supervisor Myrna Melgar and President of the West Portal Merchants' Association announced their commitment to collaborate on the West Portal Safety Improvement Project by establishing the Welcoming West Portal Committee (WWPC). The WWPC will consist of merchants, neighbors, and visitors to West Portal who share a vision of safety, mobility, and vibrancy for West Portal.
