Take the vocals. I have no problem with mixing clean vocals and screams, but the clean vocals have to be really interesting, like #sleepToken or #A7X, even #Architects.

The lyrics too, they step over the line of lazy/cheesy too often. Counting the stars before they ignite? They're stars!

The guitar work is pretty good, but again you could point to a few different bands doing it better. Anywho, worth a listen, but it's not going to make it into longterm rotation.

I've heard this album floated around as AOTY by several folks, and I've given it a good 6-7 listens, trying to figure out what I'm missing. Look, it's a decent album. But you can take any element of it and point to other bands doing it slightly better ...
