FINALLY!!!!
A vinyl pressing that does this phenomenal album proper justice.

I owned a previous reissue of this, & it had major problems.
The first being that it was on a single LP, & it sounded AWFUL (2017 U.S. pressing).
Secondly, what may be the band’s biggest hit, “Until I Hear It From You”, was never part of the original album, which was an unfathomable decision.
It was only after the success of the Empire Records soundtrack that the song was retroactively added to later CD issues.
Robin Wilson has said it was the worst decision the band ever made. Even the aforementioned reissue from ‘17 left it off!

Here, the album is spread out over two records, and not only do you get THAT song, you get a hsndful of other unreleased tracks.

It sounds phenomenal, and this is the definitive vinyl version.

My favorite Doors album, & BY FAR the one I’ve revisited the most over the years.

I’d hate to give Oliver Stone credit for ANYTHING (he’s a repugnant human being), but it was through his movie (& Val Kilmer’s performance) that FULLY introduced me to The Doors.

Outside of the 2 HUGE songs from the first album, I knew nothing about the band.
The movie is not accurate in ANY way, but the MUSIC was the real star, and was one hell of an introductory course.

After diving in deep as a teenager, it was Strange Days that struck the biggest chord with me. It was the very first album of theirs I heard start to finish, and it blew my mind.

All of my favorite Doors tunes are on Strange Days.

Love Me Two Times, Moonlight Drive, People Are Strange, and the epic closer “When The Music’s Over” instantly won me over.
“Unhappy Girl” is a perfect two minutes.

Rockabye Baby! Lullaby Renditions Of The Smashing Pumpkins
2007 U.S. CD issue

I’ve long been a fan of these beautiful, lush and dreamy Rockabye Baby! albums, and if there was ever a band who’s songs were tailored for one, it’s the Pumpkins.

In particular “Tonight, Tonight”, “Today”, “Disarm” and “1979”. The hits get shimmering and mellow instrumental renditions here, rife with glockenspiel, mellotron, and vibraphone.

Even the scorching rockers on here get wonderful treatment. On “Cherub Rock”, Corgans screaming guitars and Jimmy Chamberlain’s thunderous drums get replaced with a wonderful nursery mobile-type kind of vibe. It’s really quite wonderful.

Definitely one of my favorite releases of this series.

2019 Europe reissue

It was a very long but very enjoyable 32 hours on the mainland, and THIS was my favorite find yesterday, for 20 CAD from a used bin.

Very much remembered for the TITTIE-PALOOZA happening on the cover, I’ve always been a big fan of this record musically.
I love #reggae and #dub , and Cut does a wonderful job combining these two genres I love and throwing them into a blender with angular #postpunk music.

The guitars have always stood out to me. Like what it would sound like if Andy Gill made a dub or reggae album.

Really fun record.
And yes… REALLY fun cover.
