Pink Floyd ist auch so eine Gruppe, die unbedingt in eine Plattensammlung gehört.
Das erste Lied, das ich Pink Floyd zuordnen konnte, war natürlich Another Brick in The Wall, und ich erinnere mich, mal die CD dazu besessen zu haben.
Heute liegt eines der berühmtesten Alben von Pink Floyd auf meinem Plattenteller, mit einem der berühmtesten Cover überhaupt! Selbst Menschen, die mit Musik nichts am Hut haben (oder doch nur wenig), kennen die Kreation um Prisma, Licht und Regenbogenfarben, wenn nicht vom Album, dann von T-Shirts, Tassen und wasweißichnochalles.
The Dark Side of The Moon ist ein Konzeptalbum, das 1973 erschienen und im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes aus dem Leben gegriffen ist. Musikalisch zeigt sich das Album ausgesprochen abwechslungsreich, mit Geschichten über das Leben, den Tod, Flugangst, Kapitalismus und all die kleine Dinge drumherum. Der Alltag wird musikalisch durch allerlei Geräusche mitten aus dem Leben dargestellt. Das Album beginnt und schließt mit einem Herzschlag. Bei den ersten Klängen von Time zucke ich auch heute noch, nachdem ich das Album doch schon mehrfach gehört habe, beim Ticken der Uhren heftig zusammen. Money bleibt mir mit dem Geräusch der Registrierkasse und auch mit seinem Thema immer in Erinnerung.
Man sollte sich das Album von Anfang bis Ende anhören; irgendwie lohnt es sich nicht, nur diesen oder jenen Track zu hören. The Dark Side of The Moon hat einen roten Faden quer durch das Leben, und vielleicht macht das auch letzten Ende das Album zu einem Klassiker.
