Exhausting last four hours.
I’m calling Wednesday over.
Needed some comfort music, so this is it.

Other than Mirror Ball (the record he did with Pearl Jam) and his soundtrack to the Jim Jarmusch film Dead Man, THIS is my favorite Neil Young recording.

There’s lots of other things that I connect to it other than just the music, which Masto doesn’t supply me enough characters to get into.
However, MUSICALLY speaking, I just love these songs.

“See The Sky About To Rain” is so beautiful, and a real gem on an album that took a complete 180 away from the previous record Harvest.

It’s a subtle and mostly mellow record, and one of Neil’s first significant “fuck you”s to the middle of the road, and what people expected of him after superstardom.

It’s such a great record, and it’s recognized as such now, even though people HATED it at first.

I did not buy this for me.
I just picked this up for a friend of mine who’s a big Stones fan for an art piece/decor for his Stones dude lair.

Art and/or decor is about the only thing most picture discs are good for, as they sound like shit.

But… who DOESNT need the crotch of one of Andy Warhol’s protégés on their wall?

One more thought:

The most horrifically unfortunate spindle hole placements of any record ever.

One of the greatest Seattle bands ever, and I can’t think of many albums from the #90s that were HEAVIER sounding than Inhaler.

The poor old lady across the street doing her gardening this morning almost had a heart attack when “Grease Box” started screaming through my windows this morning.

That’s the legacy of Tad.
Killing old ladies since the late #80s .
