Inspired by LGR's newest video, I took a trip down my iPhoto memory lane. In the process I discovered these macro photos of one of my long-gone server racks, including an XServe G5, some XServe G5 cluster nodes, and a pair of Cobalt RaQ 4s. Enjoy!

This is a bit different from the stuff I normally show. But apart from the usual retro stuff, I also have a small collection of business-grade hardware, like this MS - 9249 1U Rackmount Server made by MSI in 2004.

I fully restored it with a clean install of Windows Server 2003. It has two Seagate Barracuda 80 GB hard disk drives in a RAID 1 configuration. Since I had one lying around, I also added a QLogic iSCSI card.

Moreover, it's running Microsoft Virtual Server (predecessor to Hyper-V) with an install of Windows 98. Nice thing about that is that you can simply connect to the VM using any browser - no software needed on the client side. 🙂
