A unique and informative exhibit held by Pattern Labo in Osaka this weekend. He is a professional denim patterner who takes apart vintage garments to study their construction and generously shares everything through these exhibits.
I went there together with @Sakuras_overall and we both learned several details about the construction of some of these garments, little secrets that reveal themselves only when the garment is carefully taken apart.
The information on display is all the more precious as most of these garments are valuable vintage pieces!

A vintage Wrangler jacket made of lightweight black denim that I took apart about 30 years ago to trace the pattern and study the construction.
As I had just the right color thread lying around, I thought I'd quickly put it back together. Swipe to see the reassembled jacket.

1950s Walker's Round Up Rider Pants
Finally, the hemming on these jeans. Actually, I've shortened these and hemmed them exactly the way they were originally, with a 2-cm lockstitched hem. Although this is not my favorite way of hemming, as a matter of principle I always aim to respect and faithfully reproduce the original hem.

The zipper has a nickel pin-lock slider marked "EXPORT", C style top stops, and black cotton tape, all compatible with a 1950s garment.
