Any #vintageAudio nerds in the federation?

I've recently bought an old "Beocord 2000 Deluxe" (what a name, huh?) reel-to-reel taperecorder in the hope It'll be able to play the tape we found in my in-law's attic. The machine the tape was found in was very broken, but the tape looks OK.

I don't know almost anything about reel-to-reel machines, though, so any pointers to do's and/or DONT's are much appreciated.

Or maybe just to some resources on the topic?

Neben den defekten Tasten mussten wir auch die Zier-Ronde des Lautstärkereglers ersetzen.
Statt einfach eine schwarze Ronder herzustellen, haben wir uns für ein vintage gelb entschieden un die Ronde im 3D Drucker hergestellt.
Das macht das Radio etwas eigenwillig, aber auch einzigartig.

Dank des TB Anschlusses kann man dies Radio auch mit #bluetooth oder #streaming aufrüsten.

@f_dion Amazingly I found one. Think this came with Dad's music centre. Cheesey mor music on side A and the B side was for recording, still intact and transferred featuring family chatter in stereo (top of the pops is on in the background so can date it very precisely) and a very irritating young me interviewing my grandparents. Still amazing to listen to this on headphones. #cassette #cassettes #VintageAudio

It was a pretty good weekend.

I picked up my receiver from the shop - the right channel had been cutting out, and I was getting a lot of static when touching the knobs. All better.

I stopped by the record store and found a Don Pullen album I didn't have (Solo Piano Album) (1975)

I caught Helen Sung performing with the Pittsburgh Jazz Orchestra and Roger Humphries. She played tunes from her upcoming release - an homage to her mentors and influences, including: Jimmy Heath, Barry Harris, Clark Terry, Horace Silver, Kenny Barron, Wayne Shorter... Roger played on the last two tunes. It was fantastic.
