Julie Andrews at 90: the magical nanny with a sideline in the sly, sexy and subversive

Britain’s practically perfect star enters her 10th decade today. To celebrate we look back over the remarkably rich, radical – and sometimes risqué – career of an actor best known for tucking up children in the mid 1960s

Lesley Ann Warren: “If you’ve made it this far, you’ve got something unique and special”

#JulieAndrews stared in the movie (1982) & a Broadway production (1995) of #VictorVictoria in which Julie plays a singer who is a "woman pretending to be a man pretending to be a woman" . . . which was a production well ahead of the times, even though 1982 doesn't sound all that long ago to me.

This movie has been missing from my #DVD collection for a long time & I bought one thinking it was a copy of the movie but it was copy of the Broadway production instead. I was surprised but not disappointed & am trying to buy a copy of the movie, as well

I've also have movie & play versions #Rent on DVD & it's nice to compare how the plot is adapted for each medium.

This play reminds me of the final line/scene in #SomeLikeItHot where #JackLemon admits to the millionaire played by #JoeEBrown who has been pursing him dressed as a woman that he's actually a man. Joe's response:

"Nobody's perfect." LOL! 😎

. . . which was an even more daring remark back in 1959.😲
