Ive accidentally left the #Vibecode on #Opus not #sonnet

Not only is Opus x3 more expensive, but its also slower and more prattly on larger tasks. Its not exactly wrong... it just picks the long way home. As if you were getting a PhD student to write a "For Sale" ad.

I was literally asking "What the fuck are you actually doing?" Watching it prattle for 10 minutes on a simple change.

Sonnet is DEFO vibecoding preference

Remember all that nonsense where an AI agent deleted a live database?

I keep repeating "Ai use is a learned skill" and most Apes are at Level 1 Bannanas on their skill level.

Snippet from my wall of AI gen text;

"Autonomous, no human gate. Headless/unattended is a hard requirement, so there's no approval
prompt. 👉 Catastrophic ops are denied outright👈 by the command screen"

Not very hard, is it?

Vibe Coding for the World Cup Bracket

The world cup is in full swing, and my friends and I are always super excited about it. Since 2006, and possibly also 2002, we’ve put together a little fantasy-style prediction bracket which helps us all really get into it. We boast, heckle, yell and shake fists at each game, even the matches that otherwise wouldn’t have felt as important. How we run the bracket is always a bit of work. It involves live documents, deciding on rules, spreadsheets, and formulas. Some of that is part of the fun, but this year it felt too much. We’ve all been busy. There’s so many kids, now, for chrissake. It felt impossible to update formulas and spreadsheets after every game or every day of games.

I'm going to have to re-engineer my Orchestrator Governer "Harness" (noun not verb)...again.
(Compute Burnout).

The idea is, split the work into functional modules sitting under an orchestration plane. So that other Ai Engine APIs can be accessed to solve.

Challenge, how to pass the work so the engine doesn't choke on the prompt long before even solve starts?

Its going to be interesting using different models for same piece of work.

This #vibecode #codemonkey looked at how stochastic #LLM are, and said "Do you have any more of that hallucination shit?"

@jiminfantino

"The designs it comes up with are also derivative."

Therein lies the problem.
Most folks who start using AI believe the PR.
AI is not a magician.
It will swing the hammer to build your design.
But if you ask it for a vision, it will be derivative.

For best results you orchestrate the system to create YOUR vision.

@AuntyRed

I'm an old System Admin and in my twilight years I've been drifting back to what I loved doing as a young person. Herding iron.

I'm gathering a slowly growing gaggle of VPSes (Virtual machines)
Some are actually doing useful work.

But because I have very little time to do it well, I often forget where shit is, I lost a server a while back, it's out there abandoned running a terribly slow 1CPU local LLM clawbot.
It's a sad story. Forgot to document it.

I deployed ok monitoring tools like Prometheus/Grafana, but I also have associates to whom grafana dash is ancient runes. So simple English that tells health of a machine is good.
With vibecode you can literally create magic castles, so I'm having useful fun.

It's creating deterministic code, so I will release it for the brave/foolish ones when it's done.

Also, I created a compute governor and I needed a complex long term project...
...that's what I do instead of watching trains 🙄

Thanks for asking.
