Questa mattina Veronica, studentessa di 23 anni dell’Università La Sapienza, è in protesta davanti al ministero della Giustizia di via Arenula. Ha con sé un cartello con scritto “sono una studentessa fuorisede e vorrei votare”. Veronica, che studia Cooperazione internazionale, pur lavorando, infatti non riuscirà a tornare a casa per votare e il governo non ha previsto il voto fuori sede nei provvedimenti per il referendum del 22-23 marzo.
“Devo scegliere – spiega Veronica – se tornare per Pasqua o per essere ascoltata dalla mia Repubblica. Vorrei partecipare e aiutare il mio Paese. Per questo ho scritto a Mattarella”. Al suo fianco anche il Comitato studentesco referendario per il No del Lazio: “Sosteniamo Veronica e la sua battaglia. Votare è un diritto, non può essere un privilegio”.

She has a sign that reads “I am a stateless student and I want to vote.” Veronica, who studies International Cooperation, despite working, will not be able to return home to vote and the government has not provided for absentee voting in the measures for the March 22-23 referendum.
“I have to choose – explains Veronica – whether to return for Easter or to be heard by my Republic. I want to participate and help my country. That’s why I wrote to Mattarella.” The Student Referendum Committee for No in Lazio is also by her side: “We support Veronica and her battle. Voting is a right, it cannot be a privilege.”
