Con questo avviso la Mezzaluna Rossa iraniana ha avvertito i cittadini di Teheran del rischio di immissione di composti tossici nell’atmosfera, dopo l’esplosione dei depositi di petrolio durante gli attacchi Usa–Israele a Teheran nel corso della notte. Le piogge acide hanno già in parte iniziato a bagnare la capitale iraniana e questa mattina un’enorme nube di fumo si è diffusa nel cielo di Teheran, oscurando il cielo, seguita da un po’ di pioggia, di colore scuro, sulla capitale.
A confermare tutto anche l’inviato della Cnn, Fred Pleitgen. “I quasi 10 milioni di abitanti di Teheran si sono svegliati con una mattina coperta da dense nuvole nere“. “Si può vedere che la pioggia, l’acqua piovana è in realtà nera – anche satura, a quanto pare – di petrolio“, ha raccontato nel suo reportage: “Ecco cosa sta succedendo stamattina, questa specie di pioggia piena di petrolio che abbiamo in questo momento sulla capitale iraniana, dopo gli attacchi” che hanno preso di mira in particolare la raffineria Shahran a Teheran, avvolta – come si vede in alcuni video – dal fumo e dalle fiamme. “Ho visto l’esplosione nella notte, ha illuminato il cielo, una cosa che non avevo mai visto: sembrava la fine del mondo, o l’inizio di quello che mi ricorda l’inferno”, ha raccontato un abitante nella zona.
Nella notte infatti Stati Uniti e Israele hanno colpito cinque impianti petroliferi durante gli attacchi nella capitale iraniana e nei dintorni, come ha riferito un funzionario alla TV di stato. “Ieri sera, quattro depositi di petrolio e un centro di trasporto di prodotti petroliferi a Teheran e nell’Alborz sono stati attaccati da aerei nemici”, ha detto alla Tv di stato l’ad della National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company, Keramat Veyskarami. “I cinque impianti sono stati danneggiati, ma l’incendio è stato domato”, ha proseguito. Durante l’attacco sono morti quattro autisti di autocisterne. Veyskarami ha poi concluso che i depositi di petrolio iraniani dispongono di “sufficienti riserve di benzina”.
