#Laws are only as effectve as they can be enforced against the will of "Law Enforcement", and just as the #USA does #StochasticTerrorism at home with the #AmericanGestapo, as little do they give a damn about the rest.
I mean, under the #Shah the #US didn't have a problem with rampant #Oppression by his regime and secret police/intelligence agency (#SAVAK) either, as he was the #1 buyer of US weapons by a long shot.
Nowadays the USA (even before #Trump) is just content with passive-aggressive isolation & politics of a thousand papercuts that for the most part only hurt the civilian population whilst the regime embraces it's "Pariah State" status, turning #IRGC-controlled state businesses like #DIO into major #BlackMarket players that sell #weapons to anyone able to cough up the necessary #USD, #Euro or #Shitcoins to them.
In any regard it's sadly not a commitment to protect #civilians in Iran but merely a situation of mutual spitefulness since 1979.
If the U.S. wanted, they could bomb a channel from the Caspian Sea to the Persian Gulf, but they won't because as soon as there are flagged coffins returning home, Trump will loose support by even his hardcore fans.
It's unclear whether #Russia would intervene. On one hand they buy a shitton if #drones from Iran, on the other #Putin has trouble already to replenish the soldiers he's "getting their pronouns turned into was/were" in #Ukraine and everyone else knows that he can't keep up with the loss of lives and equipment.
