MonissaAlso in the bush (or the bush is in it) and set off the main track are the remains of the Engineer's Residence, c.1888, from the years when the island was a cement works.
It was a single storey house. Looking at the leftmost chimney, you can see the levels. Basement. Fireplace and plaster/cement of the main room. Above that the ceiling space which ends where the chimney become slighty narrower (about 3/4 of the way up). From the other bricks, I'm guessing it was the usual two rooms either side of central hallway layout, with the fireplaces separating the rooms on each side.
The two brick columns in the background are the entrance gate.
