Regarding the new #VersaillesNoBara movie, I think we're having a #SailorMoonCrystal situation here, where fans of the old #anime are (on average) not terribly happy with it, while #manga fans (again, on average) like it. I don't want to generalize too much, obviously, and it wasn't THAT simple with #SailorMoonCrystal either, but overall... yeah, I'm getting flashbacks, heh.

The new #VersaillesNoBara movie is... fine? Very pretty, and I kinda like the musical numbers because the original story is dramatic and theatrical, so they don't really feel out of place here. Unfortunately, the plot is condensed, and the characters seem a bit thin compared to their #manga selves, but eh, I guess you can only fit so much into a two-hour film. It works reasonably well as a modern tribute to Ikeda's work.
