It's just makeup to cover up bruising. He's on anticoagulants - probably has been for many years, like many men and women with risk factors for heart disease (weight, lifestyle, etc) and they've probably increased the strength of what he's on with his more recent diagnosis of venous insuffciency.

This level of anticoagulants makes you bruise *extremely* easily - just bump a doorknob or table surface with your hand / elbow / whatever, and you'll bruise - and it also makes the bruises look much more severe. I've a relative that has had bruises covering half their face with dark, almost-black patches multiple times from very minor incidents.

But he's vain (vein? 😉 ), so gotta cover it up with makeup.

My lower legs swell and this swelling is to be associated with a neurologic condition, Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, also known by the fantastically worse, newer name, CRPS. So, I searched on the question of whether Trump's venous insuffiency could stem from a neuroolgic cause. The answer I got is not to my satisfaction; but it interests me and it may interest a few other people out there. The results of my search are in the attachment. The passage at the page break which got somewhat mangled says,

CCSVI may lead to inflammation at the blood-brain barrier and disrupt the glymphatic system

[Google AI is trendy but wrong. "Neurologic" is the correct word in this usage. The American Neurological Association has a style guide(!) for writers which I checked and Google AI evidently didn't.]

Trump does NOT have a "blood condition".

He has something that happens with age. The valves in your veins that keep the blood flowing the right way and therefore clearing fluid from your lower extremities, aren't working.

Because he is old and fat.

That's it.
