(Adnkronos) - "Chi è stato coinvolto nella decisione di riaprire il Padiglione della Russia all'Esposizione internazionale d'arte della Biennale di Venezia dopo la pausa che ha fatto seguito all'inizio dell'invasione su larga scala dell'Ucraina o non comprende il mondo in cui vive oppure coopera consapevolmente con la Russia, un Paese che sta commettendo crimini di dimensioni e cinismo senza precedenti in Europa dalla Seconda guerra mondiale". Ricorda che "la guerra è in corso", Alevtina Kakhidze, artista ucraina di spicco molto nota anche all'estero (ha fra l'altro rappresentato l'Ucraina alla Biennale di Malta nel 2024, esposto a Base a Milano lo scorso anno, nel 2014, a Manifesta 10 a San Pietroburgo, e ha partecipato al progetto Working for Change del Padiglione del Marocco alle 54esima edizione della Biennale di Venezia del 2011).

(Adnkronos) - "Anyone involved in the decision to reopen the Russian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale International Art Exhibition after the pause that followed the large-scale invasion of Ukraine either doesn't understand the world in which they live or consciously cooperates with Russia, a country that is committing crimes of unprecedented size and cynicism in Europe since World War II." Remember that “the war is ongoing,” says Alevtina Kakhidze, a prominent Ukrainian artist also well-known internationally (she has, for example, represented Ukraine at the Biennale in Malta in 2024, exhibited at Base in Milan last year, in 2014, at Manifesta 10 in St. Petersburg, and participated in the Working for Change project of the Morocco Pavilion at the 54th Venice Biennale edition in 2011)."

The Venice Biennale risks losing EU funding over planned Russia involvement.

The European Commission says it will cut funding if organisers of the arts festival go ahead with plans to include Russia.

The Commission reiterated that any breach of ethical standards by the art festival would be treated as a violation of contract, leading to suspension of the €2m agreement.
