**Jere Burns.** You can compare this show to The Equalizer or Stingray or others. And it is broadly similar. But it has a whole different tone. At its core, it is a dark comedy. Mr. Chapel is sinister but he’s also nuts. And he uses that to unnerve his targets. This episode is almost without action, almost without violence. It does have a strong story that tugs the heartstrings. (Robert Carradine is great.) It also has a smarmy villain. One we hate from the get-go, one whose downfall is satisfying to watch. Chapel’s plan is an elaborate con job. Things do fall into place very easily but it’s easy to look beyond that because the plan is so demented. 8/10

Vengeance Unlimited 1x16 "Friends"

An engineer, Darin Carver, invents a electricity-free lamp at home and gives it to some friends for testing. One of his former classsmates at MIT, now a millionaire computer engineer, Steven Jensen, tries to buy the patent but Carver declines. Jensen's hitman, mr Hobbs, makes sure that the lamp starts several fires, and then Jensen introduces Carver's lamp as his own, improved version. Carver can't take the humiliation and commits suicide. Chapel tries to access Jensen, but he's constantly guarded, and Chapel has to go via Jensen's secretary. As Jensen's temporary assistant, KC finds out that Jensen's company has to get lots of money since its resources is tied up in the lamp. Then it's all a matter of spraying a shirt, sending a few e-mails, getting some plates for making new dollar bills, and replace a letter to some Japanese investors. The things you do for your friends...

#VengeanceUnlimited 05 (1998) - 9/10

1️⃣ One of the very best episodes. The mysterious Mr. Chapel comes across as a deranged do-gooder, with a bizarre sense of humour. He rarely seems to take anything seriously.

2️⃣ Great guest cast in this one, #KeithSzarabajka, #ChristianClemenson, #GregGrunberg.

3️⃣ The fun is in watching the odd way our hero goes about bringing the baddie down. This is not like other White Knight shows. This guy has a different way of doing things. Funny, dark, cool.
