The last #athletic endeavor is actually pertinent. I'm a retired #bicycle #racer. An amateur. I only raced for a handful of years. I made #Category 3 at the #velodrome at the age of 57 beating thirty-somes. #JBMV THE POINT IS THAT I KNOW HOW TO SUFFER. That is a critical capacity right now. 🔦🔦🔦

First velodrome race day for Ethan at Newport today 🚴‍♂️

4th in the flying 200 qualifier (his first ever), 9th out of 22 in the elimination race, and then 3rd overall in the sprint competition — his first velodrome podium.

Best part? It’s the cheapest track bike we’ve ever built: Dolan Pre Cursa, Halo wheels, HupCC cranks.

Proof you don’t need the most expensive bike to get on the podium.

Except for the frame, forks and seat posts, all parts supplied and assembled by #TheFriendlyBikeMechanic 😁

It became a topic of conversation last night at the #manchester #Velodrome because of the cranks I put on it (short, square taper) but it clearly worked with him winning all the sprints and finishing joint 1st in the points race.

Looking forward to Newport this weekend!

only £100 more than the prebuilt option but considerably better suited and with better bits.
