I inherited my father in law's excellent dissecting microscope and am enjoying it with abandon!! Voici a view of the surface of one of my seedling pots, complete with a springtail busily going about his important work, eating up (processing) the rotten bits to turn into plant nutrients! Thank you Sir Springtail!!

While we were at our traditional music weekend, there was the first big rainstorm of the season back on the coast. So within days our yet-unripe tomatoes all got the blight! It looked like Halloween in our garden... 🤢 So I made green salsa! Canning next! And of course now we're into a heat wave and who wants to can in the sweltering heat?!? Me, apparently.
